THEY happily describe themselves as “drinkers with a running problem” and fun is priority one.
The Hash House Harriers make social running a lot of fun and next month they are all set to celebrate a very special anniversary.
During September, local hashers will notch up their 25th year of running.
To celebrate, the group is holding a reunion and “Red Dress Run” during the Kalgoorlie Race Round.
The red dress run will be held on “Ladies Day”, Wednesday September 10. The 25th anniversary run will be held from 7pm until late on Friday, September 12 and then on Saturday, September 13 (Cup day) a champagne breakfast will get things underway.
Promotion for the week is now in full swing, with club members loudly and proudly calling for: “All hashers, new or old, drunk or sober, walking or staggering on their own feet or with or without zimmer frames, wheelchairs and hip replacements.”
The call has gone out to hashers past and present to join the fun, with out of town guests being offered billets in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
