ADULTS who need help with reading or writing will find there is a local program that is tailored to suit individual needs.

Read Write Now! offers assistance to anyone over 18 requiring instruction in literacy and numeracy.

Sometimes people are very good at their jobs but lack the skills to study manuals and pass tests. They would benefit from effective one-to-one teaching and learning.

Students and tutors meet for about an hour every week and building good relationships between them is an important part of the process.

Regional coordinator Velicia le Tang said that, wherever possible, personalities would be matched for compatibility.

There are volunteer tutors available in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, ready to be of use to those who want their help.

All have received intensive nationally accredited training. They try to make the learning experiences relevant to the individuals involved and respect people’s privacy.
