Pratchett classic comes to stage

18/07/2008 3:04:00 PM
DEATH comes to life in a big way next week when the Goldfields Repertory Club's production of Mort hits the stage.

Based on the novel by popular comic author Terry Pratchett, Mort tells the story of Death's apprentice as he struggles to deal with reincarnated monks, assassinated emperors and a rift in the space-time continuum.

Director Ben Anderson and the cast were having a lot of fun during rehearsals and he believed this would translate into a great stage show.

“Pratchett writes great dialogue and anyone familiar with his Discworld series of novels will recognise all their favourite characters,” he said.

“There are lots of Terry Pratchett fans in Kalgoorlie-Boulder – his books are always out from the library – and I hope they can all come along and see the show.”

Mort will be performed at the Brookman Street Theatre on July 24, 25, 26 and 31 and August 1,2, 7, 8 and 9.

Tickets are available now from the Goldfields Arts Centre box office on 9088 6900.
