17/07/2008 10:58:00 AM
PONY club aficionados from around WA are converging on Kalgoorlie-Boulder this weekend for the Kalgoorlie Gold Nugget event.

Described as the club’s “biggest event of the year” it attracts a wide range of entries along with renowned judges from Perth who will adjudicate the competitions.

Competitors from Moora, Lancelin, Esperance, Munglinup, Bruce Rock, Kellerberrin, Perth, Australind and Serpentine will all be taking part.

Saturday’s competition will comprise dressage and Sunday will feature show jumping and cross country events.

Spokesperson Denise Hass said it was a very busy weekend for the pony club, but they were looking forward to the fun, fellowship and competition.

Riders will be vying for prizes including gold nuggets, thanks to the generous support of local sponsors.
