THE City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has been inundated with complaints from residents who claim their rubbish and recycling bins are not being emptied.
But the City’s chief executive officer Don Burnett said residents are not putting their bins out in time for collection.
Cleanaway staff reported many residents rush to put their bins out when they hear or see the trucks.
Mr Burnett said bins should be put out the night before collection day to ensure they are emptied.
“When residents see the Cleanaway pick-up trucks coming down the street after their initial pick-up run they assume that the trucks are just starting their collection and rush to put out their bins,” he said.
“When the bins are not collected the residents believe that the trucks have missed them by mistake.”
